Black polished pebbles are naturally beautiful, but they do far more than just add a decorative touch to landscapes. In addition to increasing curb appeal, you’ll find that you can use these decorative rocks to transform any outdoor space. With polished black pebbles, landscaping can be a truly creative endeavor. These benefits are just a few of the reasons you might want to include black pebbles in your landscaping plans.

Promote Proper Drainage

Many landscapes come with the problem of excessive rainfall and sprinkler runoff pooling in certain areas. Polished black pebbles provide an aesthetic way to direct water where you want it to go. Whether you choose to send the runoff to a nearby drain or a home garden is up to you, and strategically setting up the black pebbles gives you the results you want so you can avoid soggy areas in your landscape.

Prevent Soil Erosion

Soil erosion can lead to drainage problems, poor plant growth, and unsightly areas in your landscape. Soil tends to erode on slopes and in areas where people frequently walk, but you may also need to worry about this problem in spots where the soil is especially sandy or lightweight. Placing a layer of black polished pebbles on top weighs the soil down, which prevents it from moving out of place during periods of heavy rainfall or exposure to high levels of traffic, and it can also protect areas of your landscape from having soil end up where it’s unwanted, such as on grassy areas where children or pets play.

Protect Plants from the Summer Heat

Black pebbles can serve as an effective replacement for mulch. The black color allows the decorative rocks to absorb more of the sun’s rays than mulch, thus protecting plants that are sensitive to the heat. Another reason to use rocks instead of mulch is because placing mulch around the base of plants retains moisture from summer rainstorms.

Create Low-Maintenance Landscapes

Black pebbles can also be used to replace grass. They come with the benefit of being low-maintenance. Since they don’t need watering, you can save on your utility costs. You’ll also be able to opt out of fertilizing and applying weed treatments to the landscape. Once they’re installed, black pebbles can simply be rinsed off with water if they’re exposed to dirt or animal waste. They’ll also last for years without needing to be replaced.

Establish Clear Walkways

Without a clear path, many people will resort to walking on the grass. Over time, this can lead to problems such as bare patches and people tracking dirt into your commercial building or home. Black polished pebbles stand out from grassy parts of the landscape, and you can use them to fill in a walking path that people will notice and enjoy using. Using larger black pebbles helps them stay in place so you’ll have a low-maintenance walking path that directs people where you want them to go.No matter what type of landscaping project you’re planning, consider using decorative rocks, stones, or black pebbles to add depth, character, and beauty to it.

RS&P Disclaimer for Natural Stone Products:

As the name implies, natural stone is the result of a natural process. Natural stone is composed of minerals and/or petrified material, and because it’s formed by nature over millions of years, much of its unique beauty is due in large part to the irregularities that occur during its formation. These anomalies include variations in color, texture, veining, striation, and size. Fissures, fractures, and fossils add even more natural “imperfections” that make natural stone one of the most versatile materials available for a wide variety of purposes, from landscaping to interior design.

RS&P is dedicated to providing our customers with the highest-quality natural stone available. Part of our commitment to exceptional service includes helping our customers understand the properties of natural stone so they can make well-informed decisions when they’re choosing from the various types of natural stone we offer.

Before you purchase natural stone, you should be aware that a number of factors can affect the amount and type of weathering and decay your stone may experience. Natural stone can undergo a wide variety of changes, including but not limited to:

  • Flaking and/or Spalling (breaking into smaller pieces) - These result from processes such as freezing and thawing, getting wet and drying, natural thermal expansion, and being exposed to salts in the environment.
  • Polished Pebbles and/or Rocks - Weather and other elements in the environment can cause the polish on pebbles and rocks to wear out. This includes both cold and hot temperatures, wetness and dryness, exposure to natural salts, and more.
  • Oxidation - This process, which causes metal to rust, also occurs in natural stone with iron content, and it’s accelerated when stone containing iron-bearing minerals is saturated with water, causing it to turn yellow or even brown.
  • Dissolution - This occurs when certain minerals in stone are dissolved by water.

We do not offer a warranty of any kind, either express or implied, for any of our natural stone products. This disclaimer of warranty includes, but is not limited to, merchantability, fitness, or suitability of our products for a particular purpose.

By purchasing, installing, and/or using our natural stone products, buyers expressly accept all said products “as is” and “with all faults,” whether or not any “faults” or “imperfections” are immediately apparent, and thereby release RS&P from any and all claims.

All purchases of any of our stone products are nonrefundable, and we do not accept returns or make exchanges on any of our natural stone products.

This way, we can make the necessary arrangements with the trucking company.
